This morning, we visited our Pizza Garden. Mrs. Rosa Hall taught us how to "DEAD HEAD". That is a fancy way of saying clip the dead leaves or flowers from the plants so new ones will grow. We then collected herb samples for us to taste later. We gathered basil, purple basil, and onion chives. Next, we walked back to school and learned how to prepare the herbs to use for cooking. Mrs. Rosa made some very special treats for us to taste. We had bread points with butter, cheese, tomatoes, and basil. Another tasty treat was the chives dip and chips made with sour cream and fresh chives. We are so thankful the day was so pretty so we could collect our herbs from the garden that our older freinds planted only a few weeks ago. We look forward to making pizzas soon. The tomatoes are almost ready to harvest.
